Copyright) NEW YORK, Feb. 26 The American freighter Lillian, of 3482 tons, from Porto Rico, rammed the North German Lloyd liner Wiegand, of 5869 tons, ten miles off the New Jersey coast, 70 miles south of New Y’ork. The Lillian began sinking immediately, and the crew of 32 took to the lifeboats, all being picked up safely by the Wiegand. The collision occurred in a fog. NEW Y'ORK, Feb. 27 A coastguard cutter has reported that she is taking the Lillian’s crew from tlie liner Wiegand, leading to tfie presumption that the captain has decided to return to the vessel, which was still afloat at 7 a.m.
