DRIVER CHARGED ALLEGED INTOXICATION PALMERSTON N., Monday Lawrence Christian De Vantier (22), driver of the motor lorry involved in the accident on Saturday night when two men were killed, appeared in the Magistrate's Court to-day charged that while in a state of intoxication he was in charge of a motor lorry and negligently drove it, thereby causing the death of Garnett Over. lie was also separately charged with being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a vehicle and remanded until March 6. Bail in £IOO was allowed on condition accused does not drive a motor vehicle in the meantime.
