HOMELESS RESIDENTS’ ORDEAL WAIST-DEEP IN WATER EFFORTS TO SAVE BELONGINGS (United press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Feb. 27. 3.15 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Feb. 27 Noojee, a township that was wiped out by the bush fires last month, has been flooded by heavy rain, and homeless residents who had been living in tents had a struggle to save their few belongings from being swept away iu the flooded Latrobe River. Working waist-deep in water the police and volunteer helpers saved what they could of the tents clothes and other property.
