Loan Approved At a special meeting of the Central Waikato Electric Power Board to-day a notice of motion of the chairman, Mr T. Hinton, approving a special loan of £50,000 for further reticulation work in the board's area was formally passed. Firm’s Basement Flooded Employees who arrived at James Smith's premises in Wellington this morning found that the basement had been flooded during the week-end by the bursting of a large pipe. There were six inches of water and carpets standing on the lloor and goods in cases were sodden. —P.A. Harvest Thanksgiving Harvest thanksgiving was celebrated at 'the Te Rapa Presbyterian Church yesterday afternoon. the preacher being the Rev. S. J. Atkins. The service of praise was led by First Church choir, under the leadership of Mr L. Takle. The harvest celebrations at Te Bapa will be concluded this evening with a concert and sale of gifts.
