WEDDING
HENDERSON—DUNLOP MAGNOLIA SATIN GOWN The wedding took place in All Saints* Church, Matamata, on the afternoon of Saturday, February 18, when Jean, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Dunlop, of Waharoa, was married to Frederick Percy Henderson, of Matamata, fourth son of Mr and Mrs A. G. Henderson, of Grey Lynn, Auckland. The Rev. Canon Quintrell was the officiating minister and Mr P. Ingham presided at the organ. The church had been beautifully arranged with massed hydrangeas in shades of pink and mauve, by ; friends of the bride. ‘ The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a lovely gown of heavy embossed magnolia satin cut on slim-fitting lines, the bodice being fashioned with a deep Peter Pan collar, and long sleeves gauged at the shoulderline, finishing in points over the hand. A deep inset panel at the back fell to form along circular train and was finished with tiny selfcovered buttons. Her beautiful veil of tulle edged with French lace, was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom and she carried a sheaf of white lilies and gladioli. The Attendants In attendance as bridesmaids were Misses Mary and Doris Dunlop, sisters of the bride, and Beverley Henderson, niece of the groom, as flowergirl, with Russell Henderson, nephew' of the groom, as pageboy. The ’maids w’ore similar frocks of self-spotted cire taffeta, in shades of pink and mauve respectively. Cut on
Princess lines, the bodices were slightly rucked in front, and tiny buttons finished the full puff sleeves and extended from the neckline to the waistline at the back. Sprays of pink and mauve flowers finished the square necklines and hats of stiffened net, in shades to match the frocks, were encircled with wreaths of velvet flowers. They carried bouquets composed of pink and mauve gladioli and cactus dahlias. The little llowergirl wore an ankle-length frock of apple green taffeta, cut on Victorian lines, the full skirt being finished witli four frills, and the tiny, tight-fitting bodice being fashioned with puff sleeves. Green velvet ribbon encircled the w'aistline and a green taffeta halo was held in place with ribbon ties under the chin. A Victorian posy of pale mauve and pink flowers was carried. The pageboy was wearing black velvet trousers with a white sp'otted taffeta blouse, the deep Peter Pan collar and cuffs being finished with accordion pleating. Messrs Charlie and Herbert Henderson, brothers of the groom, were best man and groomsman respectively. After the ceremony a reception was held in Loveridge’s Tea Rooms, wliich had been artistically arranged with bowls of pink, white and mauve flowers and pink and mauve streamers. The mother of the bride received the guests wearing w an ensemble of navy striped georgette with a matching hat, finished with a pink spray, she carried a posy composed of pink flowers. Mrs Henderson was wearing a navy pin-striped costume, with navy straw hat with cyclamen relief and carried a posy of cyclamen flowers.
The bride travelled wearing a smart navy ensemble with matching hat and accessories.
Mr and Mrs F. R. Henderson will make their home in Waharoa.
