PLANB NEARLY COMPLETE GREAT INTEREST IN BRITAIN "Yinal plans for the Empire’s National Theatre In London are nearly completed and will be presented to the executive committee by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Mr Cecil Masey shortly,” states Mr Geoffrey Whitworth, the hon. secretary, in London. An official statement said: "£T 1,000 has been given in cash or promised—as contributions towards the seat endowment scheme alone —most of it during the last six months. "’Branches of the Drama League are organising shows to raise money for the National Theatre. Many towns and boroughs which have promised or have already endowed seats are plants ning to raise funds for more than one / seat.”
