GAMES IN HAMILTON FIRST ROUND STARTED The first round of the Hamilton Primary Schools Cricket Association’s competition commenced this week. Following were the results: — Senior—Hamilton West, 94 for one wicket (Allen 66 not out, Powell 14) beat Marist, 86 (Carl 20, Foley 15, Kneebone 14, Casey 11). Southwell A, 81 for three wickets (Blackmore 30 retired, Peters 25 retired) beat Southwell B. 47 (Pemberton 12). Fowling for Southwell A, Boyd took three wickets for 5 runs and Thomas five for 21. The match between Frankton and Whitiora was postponed. Junior—Hamilton West, 68 for four wickets (O’Dowd 39, Hammond 14) beat Frankton 6i (Salmnnd 13, Coulten 2ft. McKenna 11). Southwell, 75 for nine wickets (Spencer 19. ]• ea 19. Mathias 10) beat Fairfield, 70 Kappelv 18, Petrie 12, Kemp 10, Cowley 10). Rowling for Southwell, Cunningham took three wickets for 21 runs and Earner four for 21. Rowling for Fairfield. Kemp took three wickets for 23 and Petrie three for 20. Hillcrest, 34 (Bones 27 not out. Beagle 12) beat Marist, 22. The match between Hamilton East and Whitiora was postponed. HOUSE CRICKET FITNESS WEEK TOURNEY Following are the latest results of
games in the Fitness Week cricket competition:—Banks v. Post and Telegraph ißanks, first inings 110 (Fraser 70, Hall 21, Turner five for 1); Post and Telegraph, first innings 129 (Hemi 47, Phillips 34, Murray live for 28). Post and Telegraph won on the first innings. Dairy v. Dalgetys Dairy, first innings 145 (Mead 46, Booth 28) ; Dalgetys, first innings 124 (Perrett 40, Congalton 36). Dairy won on the first innings.
