INCREASE IN ADVANCES I DROP IN THE NOTE ISSUE cßv Teletrraph.—Pies; Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday ! The Reserve Bank return for t.he ■ week ended Monday. February 20, was | gazetted to-night. The statement is I balanced at £30,535,144. or £9*8.118 more than at the close of the previous , week. The sterline exchange reserve is j £358,532 higher in value than it was a week before. Deposits have increased by £1,223,298. while the note issue is £222,514 lower. The proportion of reserve to notes and other demand liabilities is 25,378, against 25.073 the week before. A further increase of £450.000 in the advances to the State, other than to the Marketing Department, makes the total £12,500.000. The marketing advances axe £164,185 higher at £6,716,535.
