BRITAIN AND RUSSIA PURCHASES OF GOODS EXTENSION OF CREDITS (United Press Assn.—Elec. TeL Copyright) LONDON, Feb. 22 The trade talks between Britain and Russia will embrace three principal! points, says the Financial Times, namely:— (1) Ways and means to enable Russia to purchase more manufactured goods from Britain.

(2) To what extent credits under the export credits guarantee plan can be extended.

(3) Proposals whereby Russia will make greater use of British shipping to carry British and Russian trade.

SOLUTION OF PROBLEMS

WILL HELP WORLD PBACI (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tet. Copyright) LONDON, Feb. 22 The hope that the recent coal trade agreement between Britain and Germany may lead to a solution of wider economic problems and thus eventually to general world appeasement, was expressed by Mr Oliver Stanley, President of the Board of Trade, at a dinner which was attended by Dr. von Dirksen, the German Ambassador, in celebration of the Anglo-German coal agreement.

Mr Stanley said: “A few weeks ago lierr Hitler said he looked forw’ard to, and desired, a long period of peace, heart of every listener in this country. He struck a responsive chord In the I wonder if there is any surer foundation than the ability of two great commercial nations to adjust the manifold intricacies of their industrial relations with mutual understanding, goodwill and benefit?”

Dr. von Dirksen declared the trade talks in Berlin next month -would be of lasting benefit to the two countries and the world as a whole.
