FAIR CONCLUDES
ANNUAL RAM OFFERING SLOW MARKET lON FINAL DAY A four-day offering of flock and stud rams was concluded at the 'Claude - lands ShowgTiounds yesterday when the quietest market of the Fixture was experienced. Throughout the sale, bidding has seldom been animated and real competition has only been forthcoming on the choicest lines. Yesterday it was apparent that requirements for flock rams had been well fulfilled, with the result that prices swung definitely in buyers' favour. Bidding was brighter on the offering of stud Romneys yesterday, some particularly fine sheep being included. Top market value was obtained for one-shear rams from Mr W. A. Todd, Qtan-e, and Mr F. FT Gibhison, Kauroa, which both brought 18 gns. The respective. buyers were Messrs F. R. Gibhison and T. Dent Kauroa). Three guineas below Ibis ‘figure oblajned for Mr \Y. E. Weighl.man, Awahuri. a ram from the well-known Wanganui breeders, Messrs Blair and Sons, while Mr A. R. Buchanan, Kairanga, sold lim e rams at. 13 gns. 11 gns and 10 ens. Two others of Mr Gilibjson’s entry were knocked down for 12 gns with a ram from Law Brothers. Shannon, selling Lo Mr f. Johnston,.. wiialawhata. for t 1 gns. Flock Romneys did not draw hidings were frequent.. For the l lots knocked down prices ranged from i: gety and Company. the Fanners' Cothe New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company.
