POOL REGULATIONS ■iei REVISION ANNOUNCED (By Teiekrapn—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday The Minister uf Marketing, the Mon. \V. Naan, announced that revised regulations have been issued governing the general operations of prolerted bobby calf pools now established tlnouglioul tiie Dominion. "These new regulations," stated the Minister, "are an extension of the original bobhy eaif marketing I'tvuiatiuns introduced early in i’Jag, which have now been revised m the light uf experience gained in marketing calves under the pool system during the past 12 months. They now provide the necessary machinery by which each pool can continue its operations from year to year on a sell-governing basis. A total* of oS protected pools was formed during last year, and through the agency uf producer committees more than* 350.000 calves were successfully marketed, with substantial savings to tiie producer and material improvement in handling. At present the pool principle is undoubtedly one of the main factors safeguarding our valuable export trade of boneless veal to the United Kingdom,” said Mr Nash, "and 1 e—hopeful tlint many more pools will be formed (luring the coming season.
