YESTERDAY’S PLAY

(Special to Times) ROTORUA, Wednesday With nine rounds of section play completed in the annual open pairs tournament of the Rotorua Bowling Club, only two teams remain unbeaten —Livingstone (Onehunga), and Higginbotham (Ponsonbv). The Rotorua skip, Pakes, suffered his first defeat at the hands of Francis (Putaruru), the latter winning by 16 to 8. There are only two rounds yet to be decided in the sections and it depends upon Gat land (Onehunga) and Douglas (Huntly) whether seven wins will be sufficient to qualify for post section matches.
