SECRET MISSION

POLES VISIT FRANCE EXCHANGE OF VIEWS AXIS LESS POPULAR (Independent Cable) (Received Feb. 22, 1.30 J.m.) WARSAW, Feb. 22 The Prime Minister, M. Skladkowski, has gone to Paris on a secret mission expected to be military staff talks, and also an exchange of views with France regarding the European situation of Italy's claims to Corsica, Tunis, and Djibouti. The Premier's visit precedes the journey to London of Colonel Beck, the Foreign Minister, at the end jf March.

Informed circles believe these visits are in conjunction with the signing of a new trade pact between •Russia andPoland and indicate that Poland is turning from the Rome-Berlln-Toklo axis to England and France.
