TE AROHA WEDDINGS

RUSHBROOKE—TEAZ BRIDE IN' CLUNY LACE On Wednesday uist, February 15, St. Mark's Church, Te Aroha, was the scene of a charming wedding, when Melba .lean, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs L. Teaz. of “Westella,” Ngarua, was married to Allan .James, only son of Mrs E. Rushbrooke and the la!e Mr A. J. Rushbrooke, of Ruakaka, Ye Aroha. The church had been artistically decorated by friends of the bride with bowls of flowers in shades of pink and white. Canon C. W. Turner performed the ceremony and the wedding music was played by Miss Hilary Sprague. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her lather,, wore a handsome gown of cluny lace with long oval train mounted with a cabouchon composed of tiny frills of siik tulle and posy of orange blossom. The bodice was fastened with a softly draped cowl neckline and long-fitting sleeves with a puff of net frills at the lop. The skirt moulded the line of the figure to the knees, where it fell into a graceful Vandyke flare mounted with cabouchons. She carried a beautiful bouquet of cream tiger lilies, pink carnations and maidenhair iern. The Bridesmaids Frocks of rose pink Nottingham lace cut. on Empire lines were worn by the two bridesmaids, Miss Joan Rushbrooke, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Mavis Johnson, cousin of the bride. Puff sleeves relieved the tightfTtting bodices, the necklines of which were cut square in front and finished with rosebuds. Halos of pink pleated net, trimmed with tiny rosebuds, were worn as hcaudresses, while pale pink mittens completed the attractive toilettes. They carried bouquets of pink gladioli, dahlias and maidenhair fern.

The little flowergirl, Melba Christensen. niece of the bride, wore a pretty rose pink frock of stiffened silk net over taffeta, with tiny frilled sleeves and frilled skirl. She wore a halo similar to the bridesmaids,’ and her posy was of pink tlcoms. The bridegroom was attended by Nil* Basil Teaz, 1 rat..or of the bride, as bO'.t man, and Mr Sthvyn Duxfleld, cousin of the l ride* • corn, as groomsman. Messrs C. Teaz and V. McConnochie acted as ushers. The Reception Following tire ceremony, a reception was held at the Palace Hotel, over one hundred guests being present. Mrs Teaz was atiiied in a smart model suit of black taffeta and she wore a black picture hat and furs. She carried a posy of dahlias. Mrs A. S. Rushbrooke wore a saxe blue satinbacked ensemble with beige trimmings

and a felt hat to tone, and she carried a posy of summer flowers. Mrs T. McLaren, grandmother of the bridegroom, wore a black marocain frock with hat to match.

When Mr and Mrs A. J. Rushbrooke left for the wedding trip, the bride travelled in a navy tailored suit, skunk stole and navy hat.

BRIDAL GROUP IN PASTEL SHADES A wedding of interest in the Te Aroha district was celebrated at St. Mark’s Church on Tuesday, February li, the bride being Edna, second daughter of Mrs J. Christensen and the late Mr G. E. Christensen, of Te Aroha, and the bridegroom Mr N. 0. (Max) Elliott, fourth son of Mr and Mrs .T. Elliott, of Dargaville. The ceremony was performed by Canon C. W. Turner, and Mrs G. W. Wild, sister of the bridegroom, presided at the organ.

The bride, preceded by the matron-of-honour, Mrs F. G. Good fellow, and bridesmaid, entered the church with her uncle. Mr R. Stewart, of Wellington, wearing a charming frock of mist blue germaine with a matching hat of Turkish fez design and tulle shoulder veil. A beautiful spray of pink carnations completed the ensemble. The matron-of-honour wore a frock of dusky pink sheer and a hat of the same material, with a veil of pink tulle. The bridesmaid, Miss Ailsa Hinton, wore pale cyclamen sheer and a similarly styled hat and veil. Sprays of hydrangeas and roses were worn by both attendants. Mr R. Elliott, of Dargaville, acted as best man, and Mr 11. R. Halliwell, of Brookbv, as groomsman. Tho Reception After the ceremony, Mrs Christensen and the bride and bridegroom received the guests in a marquee at the residence of the former in George Street. The bride's mother wore a clover crepe frock trimmed with French pink, a black hat trimmed with small flowers and she carried a bouquet of pompom dahlias, sweet peas and mignonette.
