POSITION IN AUCKLAND FAILURE TJ OBTAIN LICENSE (By TeJecrspn.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Tuesday Tin scrap, previously valued at £7 a ton, is being dumped in Auckland xur the reason that a license for export cannot be obtained and nothing can be done with it. It is estimated that the loss daily is at b'Jtsi £::n „aul it is reported that as a result of the embargo one firm is losing £2OOO a year on waste products. There is a ready market in Britain, Germany and Japan for scrap tin, which is treated and rolled into tin sheet. FAT LAMB SCHEDULE SEASON NEARING END The- export schedule for fat lambs for this week's killing operations remains unhanged except that light seconds are rmv listed at 53d per lb. The season, which has not been very satisfactory. is now tailing off and the quotation for the lower grade of seconds is due to the large number of light-weight lambs coming forward. The schedule rates for lambs on hooks, Southdown, Westfield works, are :—Up to 361 b, 7d per lb; 371 b to 421 b, 63d; over 421 b, 64d; seconds. 6Jd; light seconds, 53d: shorn, £d less, all grades; usual deductions for seedy.
