SLACKER MARKET
STOCK AT FRANKTON SLOW SALE FOR BEEF Lighter entries and slightly lower values characterised the market of the Frankton stock sale to-day. Quality in the fat cattle department was below standard and values suffered as a consequence. A few heavy Friesian steers were traded from £lO to £l2 4s but the bulk of entries was knocked down at prices ranging from £6 to £9 15s. A small entry of cows and heifers also met with a fairly slack market. Although fat sheep were forward in smaller numbers there was no enthusiasm about competition and values in many instances were 3d to Is a head lower. Lambs, however, were in good request and values for this class showed little alteration. The demand for fat pigs was ajgain restricted and values were occasionally slightly lower.
