FARM RESEARCH

RUAKURA FIELD DAY PROGRAMME ON FRIDAY A special field day, which will be held at the Ruakura Farm on Friday, will be attended by members of the New Zealand Dairy Board, the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board, New Zealand Farmers' Union, New Zealand Sheep Owners’ Federation and the Ruakura Farm Advisory Committee. The Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. W. Lee Martin, will be present and will address the gathering. The “facial eczema” experimental areas will be visited, while the bull fertility experiment, the experimental piggery and the dairy and cattle yards will also be inspected. The visitors will also have the opportunity of obtaining information on the experiments in connection with the curd feeding in poultry. The day will cod elude with visits to the laboratory, the alternate mowing and grazing experimental area and the feed flavour farm. During the day short talks will be given by members of the Ruakura Farm staff of research officers, while the gathering will also he addressed by Dr. H. E. Anne it. The visitors will meet at the students’ quarters at 9.30 a.m. The telegraphed returns of Mataki Gold Dredging Limited, for the week ended February 17 were 15 ounces for 129 hours’ work and 6500 yards.
