WAIKATO RACING CLUB OAY SUMMER FROCKS VOGUE FOR COLOURED STRIPES A perfect slimmer day, with a light breeze to counterbalance the heat of the sun, was responsible for many charming frocks and ensembles being worn at Te Rapa yesterday when the second day of the Waikato Racing Club’s summer meeting was held. It was essentially a day for gay dressing, and stripes of all colours and widths, used in a multitude of different designs, undoubtedly predominated in the colour scheme. Black and navy frocks were plentifully in evidence among the colourful array and were, as usual, characterised by smart accessories, such as veiled hats and handsome furs. It was a good day for picture hats, and the opportunity of wearing them was not missed. In black, navy, white or natural coloured straw, they made a charming finish to the frocks.
