VAL LU’S OHINEWAI GOLDEN SHEILA’S BIG RACE Fine weather again favoured the Waikato Racing Club to-day for the concluding day of the summer meeting. Val Lu, after being handily placed throughout, hit thp front three furlongs Trom home and carried on Tor a decisive victory. Midland ran another solid race, while Beeswing, who appeared to meet with a -check in the early stages, shaped meritoriously.
iSpearrord led out from Irish Belle, Beeswing and Pleuron. Val Lu had run behind Spearford along the back and this pair was followed by Midland, Beeswing. Kotahi Acre, Trish Belle, Ngawiri and Haile Boy. with Gay Sister and Susan at the rear of the Held. Val Lu was followed into the straight tiff Spearford, Midl-and, Beeswing, Kotahi Acre, Ngawiri, HTgh Delight, who was wide out, and Halle Boy. Val Lu carried on to win by one and a-half lengths from Midland, with Beeswing three lengths away third. Silver Eagle was fourth and then came Susan. Ngawiri, High Delight, Haile Boy and Kotahi Acre. Te Rapa. Mio Lume gave a solid exhibition, staying on in most resolute style to outstav the Tavourite, Bryce Street. Little Briton, who was having hls first race for a spell, shaped like an improver.
Donegal was in charge as they raced past the stands from Aramis, Mlo Lume. Forest Lake, Celtic Lad. fßozei, Bryce Street, Little Briton and Manawahe, with Master Musk bringing up the rear. Mio Lume took up the running as they entered on the back stretch and was followed here bv Donegal. Bryce Street, -Little Briton, Celtic Lad, Aramis. Manawahe, Rozel and Master Musk. Little Briton made a forward move acros* the top, and as they came to the home turn he was lying behind Mio Lume, with Bryce Street right up and a gap to Manawahe Donegal, Aramis, Celtic Lad and Rozel. Mlo Lume held on to win by two lengths from Bryce Street, with Little Briton three lengths away. Master Musk w-as fourth and then followed Aramis. Manawahe, Rozel. Forest Lake and Celtic Lad. Time. 3.15 3-5.
Prince Rengl Withdrawn While doing his preliminary in the Te Rore Handicap. Prince Rangi < G. Gilchrist • bolted for fully two and a-hair miles berore being pulled up. Wit the consent or the stewards he was withdrawn and all moneyinvested on the horse on the machines were refunded.
