Saturday Cricket in the Auckland senior competition was curtailed somewhat at Eden Park to-day by the hour's massed drill display which marked the official opening of Physical Fitness Week. This took place between 3.,10 and 4.30 p.m. The outstanding features of the afternoon were V. J. Scott's third century and a big stand by him with C. P. Lund for Y.M.C.A.’s fourth wicket against Parnell, who had nearly 500 runs on for the loss of only four wickets last week. At the beginning of last season the same pair put on well over 200 aigainst King's Old Boys (now Middlemore), Scott getting a double-century and Lund a hundred on his senior debut. Stumps were not drawn at Eden Park until 6.-45, but at Devonport last Saturday's hours were observed. There Y. S. Sale made his third hundred of the year, and R. 11. Cleave, the opposing skipper, was dismissed at 99 with the last ball of the match —the ninth of an over! The games resulted:— Parnell 491 for four drew with Y.M.C.A., 376 for four. Scott and Lund put on over 300. Eden 209 and 181 for two, beat Grafton 137 by 72 runs on the first innings. University 304 beat Middlemore 101 and 126 for five by 203 runs on the first innings.
