Feb. 18, 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 18 The manager of the Broken Hill Proprietary mine announced that operations at the mine would cease on March 4. The decision to close the mine was the result of workable ore being exhausted. Since work began at the mine in 1884 about 12,300,000 tons of ore have been mined and the aggregate value of the mineral extracted is about £60,000.000.
