Hamilton Performers’ Club To-night the Hamilton Performers Club will open the season. The programme will include items by Miss McLachlan (violin), Miss Coates (tap dancinp), Messrs George Ayo and Malcolm Burdis (songs). Auckland Dancers for Hamilton Beryl Nettleton and Bettina Edwards, of Auckland, two of the bestknown solo dangers and teachers of dancing in New Zealand, have decided to extend their work to Hamilton, anil will commence teaching here on Monday, February 27. Auckland Operatic Society The Auckland Operatic Society has abandoned the idea of staging “Rio Rita” this season. It is negotiating for “Rose Marie.” In a list of prospective productions which I obtained from the Williamson representative in Wellington recently for the Hamilton Operatic Society, “Rose Marie” was said t-o be not available Hamilton Society’s Producer Recovering. The latest news regarding Mr Walter George, who produced “Rio Rita” and “The Vagabond King” for the Hamilton Operatic Society, is that lie has so far recovered in health as to be able to leave hospital and return to his home on the sunny heights of Kurrajong, New South Wales. There will be widespread hope for the complete recovery of Mr George. Al Jolson Returning A 1 Jolson returns to the screen to star with Tyrone Power and Alice Faye in “Rose of Washington Square.” planned on tile lines of “Alexander's Ragtime Bund.” but not a sequel. It will not be scored by Irving Berlin as originally intended.
