Hamilton Singer in Wellington Keith Priscott-, the young baritone, , of Hamilton, will sing in Wellington on Wednesday night. } His items will include “ Go. Lovely I Rose,” “ The Farmer’s Pride,” “ Full j Fathoms Five,” and “ Port of Many | Ships.” Myra Booth Studio’s Scholarship Mr Alex Taylor, of Hamilton, was successful in winning the Myra Booth Studio of Music scholarship for this year. Honorable Mention: Mr James Lees, Glen Massey; Mr Norman Leaf, Frankton; Mr David Crabbe, Frankton. There were a large number of entries. The male voices, on the whole, were superior to the female, and the average was rather lower than last year. The winner possesses a bass-baritone voice which promises well. Violinist for New Zealand Zoraida, a nineteen-year-old violinist, will tour New Zealand under the direction of the Toledo Society. Writer of Lyrics Dies in London Desmond Carter, author and lyric writer, has died in London. Desmond Carter was a contributor to “Punch,” “London Opinion” and other periodicals. He was part-author of “Walzes from Vienna.” “The Dubarry,” “Jill Darling,” etc. He also wrote the lyrics for many others.
