Health Display
WINTER SHOW PROJECT CHILDREN’S PARADE ARRANGED 2000 POSTERS TO BE EXHIBITED For the first time in New Zealand a scale health display will be staged when the Waikato Winter Show is held in Hamilton from May 30 to June 6. Already, the secretary of the show association, Mr W. H. Paul, has plans for the display well in hand and he stated to-day that he had communicated with about 30 different societies interested in the work, asking them for help and advice in the project. A section will be devoted to the display, which will consist of about 2000 posters from all over the world, advocating cleanliness and containing numerous slogans pertaining to health. It is intended, said Mr Paul, to hold a parade of children wearing imitation crowns and carrying placards bearing health captions. Already Mr Paul has received numerous posters from the Health and Cleanliness Council, London, indicating the part that cleanliness plays in preserving the health of the nation. A letter was received from the secretary of the Green County Fair, Monroe, Wisconsin, United State, expressing his interest in the health project and offering to assist. Rural Exhibits The communication from the secretary of the Green County Fair stated that in reply to a letter received from Mr Paul he was sending the exhibits which won the first prize in every class of the school rural section of the fair. These have come to hand and will be exhibited at the next Waikato Winter Show.
