MORRINSVILLE SHOW
ARRANGEMENTS WELL IN HAND LOCATION OF LISHT HORSE RING (Special to Times) MORIUNSVILLE, Thursday Arrangements for the Morrinsville Show to be held on March 8 were discussed at a meeting of the general committee of the Morrinsville Agricultural and Pastoral Society last evening. The president, Mr W. J. Aitken, reported that an inspection of the showgrounds by a sub-committee had resulted in these members recommending that the light horse events be held once again inside the cycling track in front of the grandstand* The children’s pony ring will this year be located on the polo ground, which adjoins the main ring. The sub-com-mittee thought it would be unwise to move the main ring to the polo ground this year, as had been suggested at a previous meeting. 'l’he society is again Insuring its “gate,” so as to be protected in the event of a wet show day. The offer of an insurance company at 10 per cent of the amount insured for, with a minimum of 15 points of rain was accepted. Cattle Trophies Further trophies for the Ayrshire cattle section have been received by the society. The Ayrshire breeders of the district have given a cup as a points prize, and Mj‘ J. A. Mundell has given a trophy for the best Ayrshire female. A trophy given by Mr of Rotorua, has \et to be allotted. Working bees of stewards and members of the committee will be held at the showgrounds on February *2 8 and March 6 for the purpose of putting up the hurdles and repairing stock pens. Portable hurdles are being made for use ill the main ring, so that the wings of the hurdles ran be put on llie cycling and running tracks of the sports ground without causing damage.
