Thursday Fatal injuries were received by Mr Ray Fleming (32). married, when the motor-cycle on which he was a pil-lion-rider collided with a truck in Harper Avenue last night. His brother, Mr Jack Fleming (35), married, rider of the machine, also received injuries and was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, where his condition this morning is reported to be serious. The vehicles were travelling in op-‘-w posfte directions and the motor-cycle hit- the truck nearly head-on. The motor-cycle was badly smashed, and the truck, driven by Mr William Jiggers, of Hornby, was also damaged. To-day Jigger was charged with intoxication in charge of a truck, and that while intoxicated in charge lie caused the death of Fleming.
