WEDDING

HAUGHY —ASPLIN SATIN BRIDAL GOWN Among the weddings recently solemnised at the Baptist Tabernacle. Auckland, was that, on January 28, of -j Nancy Elizabeth, youngest daughter of ' Mr and Mrs W. T. I The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a charming gown of pearl cream satin, fashioned » on slim-fitting lines, the bodice of 1 satin and lace being designed to form a soft cowl neckline. The skirt fell from a high corselette waistline in a full flare to form a train. Her veil 5 of appliqued cream tulle was caught • to the head by a halo of satin and orange blossom and fell in filmy folds 5 to the ground. She carried a sheaf 2 of cream waterlilies and gladioli arranged with maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid, Miss Mavis Sunter. 3 of Auckland, wore an attractive frock ’ of pale lilac tulle over taffeta, designed in redingote style, and trimmed with lilac and pink posies. Her head- " dress was a pink halo and she carried J a sheaf of lilac coloured gladioli and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Air Thomas Haughy, and Afr James Asplin and Mr Kenneth Haughy officiated as ushers at the church. The Reception s Following the ceremony, a reception r was held al the Domain Kiosk, where r Airs Asplin received her guests, weare ing a frock of floral navy georgette p under a navy georgette coat and with navy accessories. The guests were later entertained at the home of the bride’s parents. When Mr and Mrs A. Haughy left for the wedding trip, the bride trav

died in a smart frock and coat of London tan linen relieved with green, and she wore a cream hat and tan accessories to tone.
