HAPPY FUNCTION
GIFT EVENING The large attendance present at the gift, evening held in the Ngarua Hall recently, was a tribute to the popularity of Miss Melba Teaz, who i 6 shortly to be married to Mr J. Rushbrooke The. evening, which had been organised by the residents, took the form of a combined modern and old-time dance, interspersed with items from various visitors, of whom there were many from the Te Aroha, Matamata and surroundings districts. Music was provided by Messrs T. Ra-Ra, M.
Donovan, W. Gibbons, J. Hunt and J. Knyvett. Mr J. Lamb was M.G. During the supper interval, Mr S. *C. Carter, in a brief speech, outlined the activities of Miss Teaz in local affairs and on behalf of her many friends, asked her to accept the numerous gifts.
Mr Rushbrooke suitably replied, and musical honours were accorded the guests-of honour, after which dancing was resumed.
