GATHERING AT PALMERSTON (By Telegraph—Prpis Association) PALMERSTON Wednesday With seventy delegates, the New Zealand Library Association conference opened to-day, Mr T. D. H. Hall, of Wellington, presiding. The delepates were accorded a civic welcome. In his presidential address. Mr Hall stressed the importance of the librarian as a teacher rather than a keeper of archives in a modern community. The scope of the agenda is verybroad, the conference lasting until Friday.
