ENGLISH ELEVEN’S VISIT RAIN PREVENTS PLAY POSSIBLE START AT 3 P.M. A steady drizzle of rain for an hour prior to the scheduled time for the start of the match between Waikato and Sir Julien Cahn's English cricket eleven at Seddon Park to-day, prevented any play this morning. The Waikato captain, R. Skeet and the visiting leader G. F. H. Heane, inspected the wicket and outfield at 11.30 a.m. and it was decided to make another examination at 2 o'clock. The wicket was covered and was considered fit for play but the outfield was saturated. Again, at 2 o’clock, a further inspection was made but. steady rain was still falling, affecting the ground adversely, and it was agreed to postpone the game until 3 p.m. if there was no further rain.
