TOTALITARIBM IN AFRICA INVESTIGATION BY GOVERNMENT (Independent Cable) CAPETOWN, Feb. 14 The Government is Investigating reports of an attempt to form a secret Afrikander bloc based "ii totalitarian ideas, which will regard Englishspeaking South Africans as foreigners. According to the Cape Times, the recently-established “Ossewa Brandwag,” which is apparently a harmless movement designed to supplement the Union defence forces, actually fiages a secret military movement whose members have access to arms and ammunition issued to the regular defence units. The Government is also watching another extremist Nationalist organisation, the Afrikanderbund, founded by the Prime Minister's son. Dr. Albert Hertzog.
