Copyright) (Received Feb. 15, 1 p.m.) HAMBURG, Feb. 14 Herr Hitler, in a speech at the launching of the battleship Bismarck, at which 50,000 people were present, declared: “ The Anglo-German naval treaty has enabled Germany to build a fleet commensurate with her army, and now we are face to face with the first giant of the new squadron of 36,000-ton ships.” Herr Hitler paid a tribute to the late Prince Bismarck as the foremost builder of the Reich. lie added: “Three times Prince Bismarck was compelled to resort to the sword to solve problems unsolvable by a majority decision. lie laid the true foundation of Hie national socialistic state in ihe face of opposition by Socialist Democrats and the’ Catholic Church, tlic egotism of petty dynasties, and small rulers, and the‘intrigues of ambitious wdmen.” Herr Hitler added that Prince Bismarck's achievements had been illrewarded, but Providence thereafter had been more just.
