Mrs W. Timms, Hamilton, has re- i turned from a holiday visit to Waihi. ! * * * * Mrs A. C. St. Paul, Hamilton, has been visiting Tauranga. Mrs L. H. Perkins has returned to Hamilton after spending a holiday with her mother, Mrs 11. C. North. Miss Joan Gaisford, Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs C. H. Hewett, Cambridge. Mrs L. J. Jacob, of Te Aroha, is visiting her mother Mrs G. E. Buckland, somerset Street. Miss Sydney Strang, Hamilton, left to-day on her return to Sydney, where she will continue her studies at the Conservatorium of Music. Noticed in the audience at the Russian Ballet in Auckland on Saturdaynight were Sirs a. English, Mrs S. Walker and Miss Dorothy Aston, of Hamilton. Mrs M. Rennie, Te Awamutu, was a visitor to Patea last week for the Sangent-Ilall wedding. • * * • Miss Helen Bremner returned to Hamilton last night after visiting her mother, Mrs J. Bremner, for a short holiday. • • • • Mrs J. Russell. Mrs J. B. Elliott, and Mrs L. Bartrum, of Hamilton, have returned from attending the coming-of-age party of Miss „Yronica Villis at Whakatane. • • • • Mrs Edwards, Hamilton, is visiting her daughter, Mrs W. Hunter, Hawera. • • • • Mrs Austin Yarndley, who has been spending a few days at New Plymouth, has returned to her home at Te Awamutu. • * • • Mrs S. Armstrong, who has been visiting relatives in Wanganui and Rata, has returned to Cambridge. • * * • Mrs R. J. Jeffs, Fordell, is at present on a visit to Hamilton. • * * • Mrs M. H. Chatfleld. M.8.E., J.P., la.dy editor of the Evening Post, Wellington, has retired from the position after twenty-five years’ service. She ■was farewelled by the staff and presented with a suitably inscribed barometer and thermometer attached and a cheque. Reference was made to the fine service Mrs Chatfleld had performed for the Post and the sincere regard and afleclion in which she was held by the staff, also to the high -esteem in which she was held by the whole community, notably women's organisations. Mapp, Walton. Mrs Pepperell and Mrs Gibson, Te Awamutu, have been the gnests of Mrs L. Mapp, Walton. * * • • The many friends of Mrs Kirk, senr., will be pleased to hear that she is making satisfactory progress at the Waikato Hospital.
