General Riske ran meritoriously, while Kaspian, the hot favourite, was doing better at the flnish than at any other stage. Hunter’s Rose jumped out smartly and led over the first furlong from Gay Opal, Miss Rangi, Forlorn and Waltzing Lila. With a fine burst or speed. Waltzing Lila ran past Hunter© Rose to be a couple or lengths in the lead along the ba<’k. the pair being followed by Forlorn, Silver Lance; Gay Opal and Kaspian.
