EXCESSIVE PRESERVATIVE CASES BROUGHT AS WARNING (By Telegraph.—Press Association) -GREYMOUTH, Monday In the Magistrate’s 'Court Alfred Coumbe, manager of the Mawhera Meat Company, was fined £2 for selling mince containing excessive sulphur dioxide and Robert. Edward Groom was fined £2 on a similar charge. A representative of the Health Department said excessive preservative was considered detrimental to public health. The cases, the first of their kind In the district, were brought as a warning.
