FAREWELL EVENING
FOR MR AND MRS D. G. MASON About 50 residents of the Tokoroa and Lichfield districts were present at an enjoyable evening held at the home of Mr and Mrs C. P. Morcom, Tokoroa, to farewfell Mr and Mrs D. G. Mason, who leave this week for the Gisborne district where they intend to reside. The rooms were tastefully decorated with sweet peas and phlox and Chinese lanterns hung in the trees of the gardens and lawns, gave a pleasing effect. Mrs Morcom, who with Mr Morcom, received the guests, wore a gown of black georgette relieved with gold sequins and a tri-coloured swathed belt. Mrs Mason wore a charming gown of mauve taffeta and white lace. Bridge, competitions and dancing were enjoyed throughout the evening, dance music being supplied by Mr J. Nicol. Two songs rendered by Mrs Morcom and three humorous recitations by Mr C. W. Blennerhassett were much appreciated. A delicious supper was served, after which Mr K. S. Cox, Lichfield, presented a cheque to Mr and Mrs Mason on behalf of district residents and paid a warm tribute to the many sterling qualities of the guests of honour. Mr Mason suitably responded.
