WEDDINGS

BEET—KESBY The wedding took place in St. Saviour's Church, Pirongia, on Wednesday, February 8. when Sybil, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Kesby, Te Pahu, was married to Frederick, youngest son of Mrs J. Beet, Pirongia. The Rev. M. Sullivan, Te Awamutu, performed the ceremony, and Mrs Sullivan played the wedding music. The ohurch had been artistically decorated by friends of the bride. The bride wore a smart frock of London tan and ner toning hat was trimmed in amethyst and green shades. She carried a bouquet of amethyst sweet peas and thalictrum. Mrs Kesby wore a navy and nattier blue ensemble and her posy was in shades of pink. .Mrs Beet, mother of the bridegroom, was wearing a black lace gown and blicL hat and she carried a posy in petunia shades. A reception was held, following the ceremony, at the home of the bridegroom's mother. LOWISH —CANNELL MATAMATA BRIDE A quiet wedding of interest in the Malamata and Hamilton districts was solemnised in the Methodist Church, Hamilton, on Saturday, January 25, when Norma Gertrude, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs P. Cannell, Peria, Malamata, was married to George Sydney, second son of Mrs Lowish, Hamilton. The <Rev. R. B. Tinsley officiated at the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gracefully cut gown of saxe blue crepe charmeuse, with hat and accessories to tone. Attending as matron-of-honour was Mrs D. Cannell, who wore a becoming suit of navy sheer, with white relief. Mr D. Cannell was best man. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Lyceum Club, Hamilton. Mrs P. Cannell received her guests wearing a smart navy trevark ensemble, and Mrs Lowish wore a floral frock with a black coat. Mr and Mrs G. S. Lowish later left for New Plymouth.
