BRILLIANT BOOT NEW SOUTH WALES SUCCESS WINS IN 880 YARDS RACE (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) SYDNEY, Feb. ii V. P. Boot, the New Zealand and Empire Games champion, won the 880 yards championship of New South Wales to-day with consummate ease. The conditions were ideal. Boot was contend to lie third during the first lap, which was run at a fast pace. He strode away before the bell, however, and had a winning margin of 15 yards. He was quite undistressed. When shown tbe clock, which registered lm 535, Boot smiled. “That’s according to the schedule I set,” he said. B. Dunn, the 17-vear-old University sprinter, who equalled J. Carlton’s Australian 100 yards record on the opening day, found the opposition too formidable in the 220 yards, being beaten into fourth place. He had previously won the junior broad jump.
