PHYSICAL FITNESS WEEK (Special to Times) MORRINSVILLE, Thursday The programme for Morrinsville district’s observance of Physical Fitness Week was approved at a meeting of representatives of sports organisations and local bodies last evening. The Mayor, Mr W. Iletherington, presided. On February 18 there will be cricket and polo matches and running and cycling events at the Recreation Ground. The polo matcli will he between Morrinsville and Cambridge young players for the Boys’ Cup. and the cricket match will he between players under and over 3° In the evening the Morrinsville Swimming Club is to hold a carnival. During the week the Morrinsville Bowling Club and the Morrinsville Tennis Club will make their grounds available to all intending players or past players, with a view to enlisting new members. On Wednesday the primary schools of the district will field a sports meeting at the Recreation Ground from 10 a.in. to 3 p.m. The programme is being drawn up by a sub-committee of teachers. On Saturday, February 25. there will he a novelty swimming carnival in the afternoon, and a parade of Girl Guides and Boy Scouts in the evening. The Morrinsville Physical Culture club proposes to stage an open-air display one night during the week. High School Roll An increase of 20 in the roll number of the secondary department of the Morrinsville District IligU School was

reported by the headmaster. Mr L. E. Pole, al tlie lirst meeting ol' tlie year of the school committee last- evening. There are now 170 secondary pupil* on the roll, a large proportion heinnew pupils. The primary roll is i<'>•'. making the school one of the largest district high schools in New /calami. Four school buses are now in service to bring children to scliuoi.
