Copyright) (Received Feb. 9, 12.30 p.m.) HONGKONG Feb. 8 While Vice-Admiral Sir Percy -Noble and Admiral Yarnell. the British and American Commanders-in-Chief respectively in China were paying a courtesy call on Admiral Oikuwu on board the warship Tdumo. the Japanese sharply protested to the British authorities at Tsinp-tao against British action regarding the Yungsheng and demanding immediate explanation for “unwarrantable action" and hampering the Japanese policy at Tsinsrtao and requesting no repetition of it. After Japanese had seized the tramp steamer Yungsheng on suspicion of not declaring a quantity of currency, silver and bullion intended for the Chinese, the British cruiser Birmingham arrived, landed an armed party and confiscated the Yungsheng’s papers in order to prevent an investigation. says the Tsingtao correspondent of the Docnei News Agency.
