TEACHER APPOINTED
MR T. N. PEMBERTON LEAVING PAPAKURA HEADMASTERSWP Mr T. N. Pemberton, M.A., who for the past 18 years has been senior master of the Hamilton Technical College, lias been appointed to the position of headmaster of the Papakura School. Starting as a probationer at the Newmarket School, Mr Pemberton served In the infant department of the Epsom School for three years, following with two years at the Training College, lie then joined the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces and for two years served overseas. On his return from active service he was appointed first assistant in the secondary department of the Waihi District High School and lie remained I here for 2* years. While in Waihi Mr Pemberton also acted as local superintendent of the Technical School, organising and arranging classes for oay and evening students. It was in 1921 when Mr Pemberton was appointed senior master at the Hamilton Technical School. There were only 25 pupils in attendance, but within four years the roll had reached 22G. For five years Mr Pemberton acted as tutorial lecturer in economics *t Hamilton for the Auckland University College, and for many years lectured to teachers on physiology, hvgiene and first aid. A member nf the Hamilton Golf Club for many years. Mr Pemberton has represented the club on numerous occasions. He will not l»e leaving Hamilton until the middle of March.
