** PHYSICAL FITNESS WEEK" AiPATHY AT QAATBMTGE (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE. Wednesday. Although Cambridge probably has more sporting institutions for the size of Its district population than any other In the Dominion, there was only a handful at a meeting held last night in the Council Chambers to consider any local activities in connection with Physical Fitness Week. The Mayor, Mr Edgar James, presided. There was a general discussion, but It was felt that Cambridge could not undertake a week’s programme. Two speakers were in favour of advocating compulsory military training, while one or two others favoured compulsory physical culture. However, there was a majority opinion against compulsion. It was reported that the schools and the Swimming Club were taking up the Minister’s request and would carry out activities during the week. Finally it was decided to request an sporting and kindred institutions to observe specially the Minister’s request on Saturday, February 25. A resolution Is to be sent to the Minister that the meeting supported the Department in any ration it took to encourage physical fitness in the country, and would approve of greater facilities being provided the schools and institutions directly catering for public health,
