CLAY BIRD SHOOT
THE KIA ORA CLUB FIRST MEETING OF YEAR The Kia Ora Gun Club held it.s first shoot of the year on its grounds at Paterangi, when a fine muster of shooters attended from surrounding districts, the first, five shoots drawing 1* competitors. A trophy donated by the club was won by E. Burrows (Paterangi ). Results:— Six-bird eye-opener: A. Webster (16yds), E. Burrows 11 yds) and W. Gribble (15yds) tied for first with possibles. Tarpletts (18yds) and Duncan (15yds) were second with five birds each. Nine-bird handicap shoot : W. Brinkworth 17yds . E. Burrows 11yds; divided the sweep with possibles. A. Webster 17yds- shot eight birds. The trophy shoot resulted: E. Burrows (12yds;. W. Brink worth lSvds; and A. Luomb (liyds) got possibles. K. Burrows winning on the JBth bird from A. Loornb. IT birds, and W. Brinkworth, 13 birds. Six-bird gimcrack : G. Shaw 12 to 2. yds and E. Bogun II to 26 vds) shot possibles and divided. Six-bird box shoot: K. Meager I birds and T. Henry i birds tied. In the shoot-off Seager won on the seventh bird. In the final match .a 30yd shoot;. T. Henry won outright.
