GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS
NORTH AND SOUTH ISLAND The New Zealand Golf Council at its monthly meeting in Wellington resolved to offer the North Island championship to lhe Manawatu Club, Palmerston North, the only club which has asked for it, and, on the recommendation of the Canterbury and Otago advisory committees, to give the South Island amateur championship to the Invercargill Club at Hie Otatara links, both tournaments to be played at Easter time. The following tournaments have been arranged : Hutt Club. Low er 111111. Wellington provincial amateur championship, April s. in. il; Manawatu Club. Palmerston North. Easter championship tournament. HnkowhMu links. April s. 0. 1"; Mount Maungamii Club, annual open East* r »urn imont. April 8. in and ladies’ open tom-nan < nt. April 15: Napier Club. Eastef tournament. April 7. 8. in.
