IDLE AGAIN
HUNTLY COAL MINES MEETING AT STATION (By Telegraph.— Special to Tlmes> HUNTLY, Thursday Three mines on the Huntly coalfields were idle again to-day, work being done only at the McDonald Mine and the Wilton Mine at Glen Massey. It was stated that the trouble arose at a meeting of miners on the Huntly station this morning prior to the departure of the mine trains. The men had met to discuss a dispute which arose at Pukemiro Mine yesterday between the management and the men. Although little definite information can he obtained the dispute is said to be concerning the non-payment of extra pay for miners working in “wet” places. While the meeting was being held it was stated that there were not sufficient waggons available for full shift work and the men decided not to go to the mines. The stationmaster at Huntly, when approached, stated that there were sufficient waggons in the yard this morning for a three-quarter shift.
