PORTER WHO STOLE WATCH ADMITTED TO PROBATION (By Telegraph. —Press Association) WELLINGTON, Tuesday When Edward Frederick Olley (23), a porter, was charged with the theft of a watch to-day, Detective-Sergeant iccused \\a> getting married at 3 o’clock this afternoon, otherwise he would have asked to have him remanded so that they could make further inquiries. They did not want to interfere with the marriage ceremony. The watch, it wa3 stated, was taken from a man living at the same address and was pawned. Accused told the police he was short of money at the time. He was placed on probation for 12 months.
