May 31 At Indianapolis to-day, Floyd Roberts, aged 38, broke records by winning the 26th 500-mile speedway classic. His time was 4h 15m 58.405, or an average of 117.2 mile's an hour, compared with the previous record of 113.58 miles of Wilbur Shaw, last year’s winner, who to-day was second.
Roberts wins 20,000 dollars and Shaw 10,000 dollars.
