The Governor-General, Viscount Galway, arrived from Auckland this morning to perform the official opening ceremony at the Waikato Winter Show. Mr J. O. Boniface, of Palmerston North, is in Hamilton for the Waikato Winter Show. Mr W. D. Carson, of Woodstock, Wanganui, is in Hamilton judging at the Waikato Winter Show. Commander A. G. Gerrand has been appointed service manager of Union Airways. 21 is headquarters will continue to be at Palmerston North. Mr R. C. Schofield, manageT of the Bank of New South Wales at Taihape. has received notice of his transfer to Te Awamutu. Mr Alexander Mair has been appointed Minister of Labour and industry in the New South Wales Cabinet, in succession to the late Mr J. M. Dunningham. Dr. Eli Stanley Jones, an American missionary, famous for his work In India, will visit Auckland during September. Dr. Jones is also widely known as the author of books on theological subjects. Messrs. A. Belcher, A. C. Hlpwell, G. C. Reid, E. Sweeting, N. H. Kirkman, R. B. Sinclair, G. W. Heald (Auckland). F. Fitzgerald (Gisborne), and G. S. Young (Wellington) are at the Hamilton Hotel.
