GIRL’S PRECOCITY

YOUNG MAN ACQUITTED GRAND JURY’S NO BILL (By Telegraph.—Press Association) GISBORNE, Tuesday Only one case was referred to the Grand* Jury at the Gisborne session of the Supreme Court which opened today. A young man was charged with indece’nt assault on a young girl. Mr Justice Reed indicated to the Grand Jury that the evidence against the accused was not convincing, the girl’s statement to her father shortly afte'r the incident being inconsistent with that given in the Lower Court hearing. His Honour added that the girl’s story suggested a surprising degree of precocity on her part. The Grand Jury returned a No Bill. The Court is engaged on the retrial of Lorenzo Griguol, charged with indecent assault, the jury having disagreed at the initial trial of the case.
