SAFE BLOWN OPEN

POST OFFICE BURGLARY OVER £7O IN CASH REMOVED (By Telegraph.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Tuesday Bursting in the front door of the Glen Eden Post Office last night, thieves removed the safe, weighing 3cwt, and containing over £2OO in cash, postal notes and stamps. The safe was later found in Shaw Road, three miles distant. It had been blown open with gelignite and £75 in cash extracted. The postal notes and stamps had been left in the safe. The burglary was discovered this morning by a news hoy. Residents heard the explosion early in the morning.
